unless its a clone and he has done an online update then its probs a jtag jobIt needs a new capacitor. Very easy to do.
I think there may be info on here somewhere. If not I will look for a link.
The info is very easy to find in a google search.

My mistake was that I turned it off from the back of the receiver button
