Vodafone Netherlands launches TV service

The Dutch branch of Vodafone has announced the launch of a triple play service over fibre networks in The Netherlands. Using the glass fibre infrastructure of Reggefiber, the telecoms company has started to offer its Thuis Internet, Bellen & TV bundle.

Initially, the new service, which includes Vodafone TV, is available in the municipalities of Barneveld, Beuningen, Emmer-Compascum, Groesbeek, Groot Salland, Leudal, Millingen aan de Rijn, Nuth and Zevenaar.

The triple play bundles includes broadband internet access with speeds of 30, 50 and 100 Mbps, which monthly subscription fees for the bundles priced at €49.95, €59.95 and €74.95 respectively.

The subscription includes a basic TV bouquet consisting of 60 channels and 20 HD channels. Additional tiers are available.

Bart Hofker, director consumer market at Vodafone Netherlands, said in a statement: “With the availability of Vodafone Home Internet, Phone & TV, Vodafone puts another step in the transformation of traditional mobile operator into a provider of all communication. With our consumer services now available over fibre, households can take advantage of higher internet speeds and better quality than they already experience with Vodafone for mobile telephony. “
