Intelsat 38 satellite to be replaced with Hotbird 13F satellite.

Considered from 01.04.2024. the programs will be simulcast on the 2nd satellite, the parameters for the Hotbird 13F satellite are:

Hotbird 13F

Position - 13°E

Reception frequency - 12 635 MHz

Polarization: linear vertical, V

Speed: 30,000 symbol/s

Standard: DVB-S2

Modulation : 8PSK FEC: 5/6

The current situation is:

Satellite - Intelsat 38

Position - 45°E

Reception frequency - 11555 MHz

Polarization - linear vertical, V

Speed - 30,000 symbol/s

Standard - DVB-S2

Modulation - 8PSK, FEC 5 / 6

Beam of the satellite - Europe beam

The period of parallel broadcasting of the two satellite positions is from 01.04.2024 to 31.12.2024.

I read today that Vivacom will be leaving 45 east soon.

Also the footprint they broadcast to on 13 east will be expanded to the normal sized footprint in time. I don't know how long that will take.

The probability of changing the coverage is very small. Already the first week when the package was launched, and there was no signal over Bulgaria, even then they reconfigured the beam to mainly cover the Balkan peninsula and then they decided not to use the wide beam.

Yep, excellent signal like the other Vivacom frequencies.
