UPC widens Slovak digital reach
09.04 Europe/London, August 5, 2011 By Chris Dziadul

UPC Broadband Slovakia has extended its digital TV offer to the town of Samorin in the west of the country.

As a result, viewers in a total of 22 locations can now receive the service, which has also been available via MMDS in several dozen villages near the capital, Bratislava, since last month.

UPC Broadband Slovakia’s digital TV service, which now has almost 100,000 subscribers – according to Liberty Global’s latest results, the figure stood at 97,300 as of the end of June – provides viewers with over 120 channels, at least 70 of which are in Slovak or Czech.

Its offer includes HD and 3D services, along with DVRs and HD DVRs that cost €2.90 and €4.90 a month respectively to rent.
