UPC, pay-DTT shine in Hungary

UPC remains the leading provider of pay-TV services in Hungary, claiming a 26.6% market share as of this October.
Data produced by the regulator NMHH shows that it was followed by Digi (23.5%), T-Home (22.8%) and Tarr (3.1%).
Interesting, MinDig TV Extra, the pay-DTT platform operated by Antenna Hungária, had a share of 2.3%, confirming its growing importance in the marketplace.
As of this October there were 1,894,779 cable and IPTV subscriptions in Hungary, of which 800,850 were digital.
The figure was exceeded by the number receiving DTH and MMDS services (916,902), while MinDig TV Extra’s total stood at 75,261.
