UPC branding for Unitymedia
By Robert Briel
March 30, 2012 10.57 Europe/London

Liberty Global’s German subsidiary Unitymedia has introduced a new logo, which closely resembles the blue UPC logo used across the company’s European footprint.

The cable operator, that serves the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, is also launching a new, simplified portfolio of products in April.

Two packages will be at the centre of a new marketing campaign, 2Play Plus 50 and 3Play Plus 50. Both will offer the consumer 50 Mbps broadband access and flat fee telephony.

The 2Play product retails at an introductory rate of €25 a month for new customers with a minimum contract of 12 months.

3Play has an introductory rate of €30 and also offers a wide range of digital TV channels including public and private HD channels. Customers of 3Play also need to buy the analogue bouquet for €17.90 a month.

Digital TV customers have a choice of renting a cable tuner with PVR or a CI Plus module.

The new Unitymedia logo is a variation (in colour) of the UPC logo and marks a further integration of the cabler into the Liberty Global fold.
