Tennant moves in as UKTV controller
10.41 Europe/London, August 11, 2011 By Julian Clover

Emma Tennant has been appointed as controller of UKTV, taking on responsibilities for the company’s portfolio of ten channels and multiplatform activities.

Joining from ITV, where she was controller of digital channels, Tennant has a strong background in commissioning. She was responsible for commissioning Martina Cole’s Ladykillers, Matthew Kelly’s Forensic Casebook and the drama series, Ladies of Letters.

“Emma will be instrumental in leading UKTV through the evolution of its next creative challenge and I am delighted she will be joining the team,” said UKTV CEO Darren Child.

Tennant began her career at Living TV, before moving to ITV3 in October 2005, assuming the role of Controller of ITV3 and CITV in 2007 and Controller of all ITV Digital Channels in 2009. She will sit on UKTV’s Executive Leadership Team and report into Darren Child and Director of Vision, George Entwhistle.
