Hello im just wondering if anyone can post a reply with a quick set of points of how to patch this receiver?

I have downloaded the relevant phantom patch STB file but unsure how to proceed from here.

There seems to be a tutorial for doing this but the PDf files are no longer available.

Im also wondering if there is much to be gained by adding patched firmware to this kind of technomate these days?

The reason I want to flash it is because i have the original Technomate firmware and for some unknown reason I cannot get 3 satellites off the setup page I just want Astra 28.2 as thats all my fixed dish offers. Currently when I hit scan it trys to scan all three satellites and i only want it to scan 1. I have tried everything and cannot get the satellites off by pressing the blue button to supposedly unselect. It will unselect other satellites but not these 3 unsure why?

I thought the easiest thing to do would just be re flash and start from scratch.

If there is nothing to be gained from these patched firmwares these days perhap re flashing the technomate firmware would be a better plan?

regards to all sky beamers :)

hello manic

cheers for your reply. im also about to be building a 90cm Motorised system so do you know which satellites are of use with these patches?

also would you mind just pointing me in the direction of what flashing software is required to flash the box?

I am familiar with flashing on my dreamboxes using Dreamup so have all the required kit just uncertain about what software to use.

regards :)

It still opens 39e few channels which show premier league footy etc and some biss channels.
A lot of biss are hd for sport and wont work.
If I remember that box is same as my tm5402
upload your channel list to usb and add the patch to usb stick unzipped as well.
Menu -usb select the patch you have on stick then press ok -box will write patch and reboot
Then factory reset again then load channel list that was saved to usb.
Then load latest softcam using usb in same method.
Manally add biss keys
Then do factory reset-

hello manic

nice one mate.

much appreciated exactly the info I was after :)

I assume these receivers would theoretically be capable of doing more but i guess all the efforts now are focussed on the linux boxes.

I see all the firmwares etc are getting on a bit in terms of age. I remember once I was able to view Hustler which was awesome! using a TM1000 but that was going back a few years now.

My dreambox seems very capable these days but I hear thats going to change soon too.

I guess its just a game of cat and mouse LOL.

cheers mdt

thats quite an impressive list on 7 degrees. I seem to remember from the days of my TM1000 a computer was needed to sit between the satellite receiver and the internet providing the necessary updates via the serial port. is this still the case? or is this just a case of upload via USB and away you go?
