SMIT releases CI+ 1.3 CAM series

SMIT Corporation, a provider of security devices for digital content delivery, has released the advanced CI+ 1.3 CAM series.
CI+ 1.3 offers an enhanced feature set to meet various business demands of the pay-TV industry while keeping backward compatibility. Empowered by its cutting edge technologies, SMIT CI+ 1.3 CAM Series fully complies with CI+ 1.3 standard including the following new features: operator service list management, PVR improvement, improved PIN code management, enhanced CI Plus copy protection, HD Graphics, increased LSC channel bandwidth and specific support for cable VOD.
These new features will enable the interactive viewing experience in a simple way. CI+ modules are expected to be the preferred choice in the market. “CI+ 1.3 CAM gives the market more choices of interactive viewing service. It allows the viewers to enjoy the bidirectional service easily and freely.” said Stephen, VP of SMiT.
In 2009, SMiT introduced industry’s first CI+-compliant CAMs servicing Dutch cable operator Ziggo. Current clients include Kabel Deutschland, Ziggo, Kabel BW, Com Hem, Digiturk, Canal Digital, NTV+, ORS, TV n, Sky Link and NexTV.
