SES announced today that it has signed a capacity agreement with Romantis, a global provider of satellite capacity and networking equipment, to support the growing connectivity needs across Russia and Central Asia.

Romantis will utilise 24MHz of Ku-band capacity on SES' NSS-12 satellite at 57 degrees East to deliver a variety of communication services across the region. With over 20 years of experience Romantis has developed bundled capacity and VSAT hardware packages that enable the delivery of corporate networks, broadband access, SCADA, GSM backhaul and video services.

"Companies in the fast-growing economies of Russia and the CIS are expanding their services rapidly and fuelling the demand for satellite capacity," said Harald Stange, Managing Director and CEO of Romantis. "It is vital that we partner with a leading global satellite operator who has the technical expertise and is committed to growing with us. The high-powered NSS-12 satellite at 57 degrees East offers excellent coverage over our core markets, allowing us to fulfil our customers' needs."

"We are pleased that Romantis has decided to come on board NSS-12. Romantis leads the way in developing innovative satellite solutions. SES' premium satellite capacity will support Romantis in implementing its global expansion plans. We look forward to establishing a long-term working relationship with them," said Norbert Hölzle, Senior Vice President Commercial Europe of SES.
