Does anyone know what this is below?
I am trying to use dreamedit.
What is going on its so frustrating!
I just want to program in some satellite .xml files soon!

error
------------

Neither a "services" nor a "lamedb" file was found in directory "%" on the Dreambox. /etc/enigma2/
Check the dream path settings on the option panel to point to the correct Dreambox directories and try again.
Disconnecting.
Disconnected.

Are you using a 500S/enigma1 box, i guess you are becuase you posting in the SD section.

If this is the case your program is setup for enigma2 not enigma1 as it should be .

ya mate - you are correct its an dreambox 500dm.
That said, what are the correct paths?
I tried to use another program, dreamset I believe it was called - that has an option to use enigma one settings, and it still didnt work. It was yielding errors. When I tested the IP connection, the first two tests worked, and the third actually connecting to the file path failed. I guess this enigma one dreambox just has some very specific paths?

How do I know what paths they are?

Ferret that's some awesome info, but I still needed to clarify a couple things. I really appreciate you're help. There seems to be three lines of path according to dream edit. Is satellite.xml really a path? Probably is cause you probably know what your talking about. I will try after work today. If it dawns on you that isn't the 2nd path dreamedit asks for playing advise.

That said, I was able to use filezilla to get into the dreambox directory today to explore it. I finally found a. Xml file that seemed to be a listing of satellites. so, I dropped non oem satellite.xml list, my receiver said it had received new information when I looked through satellite on tv screen, but I didn't see any changes.

Question: is changing the satellite.xml file enough, or do you need to add bouquets as well. Ultimately the advice I am after is what changes need to be made up until I decide if I am going to do iks.

no a satelitit.xml is a file with frequency and transponder data that goes in /var/etc.

You wont see any changes to the sats until you add the sat postions from the sat.xml

If you need to add positions from a new sat.xml do this

What you need to do is add those positions

On the remote

1. Menu-Setup-Service Searching-Satellite Configuration.

2. On this screen press the yellow button for new a few times. You should see it adding positions.

Do a soft reboot and you dish should now move to those positions.

Okay thanks I am beginning to understand. Please then let me know what service and bouquet files are if you can. Is that the list of channels?

Once all of this is done,do I just add cc cam and join an iks?
Of course make a few configuration changes. ?

Thanks for that. Also just a random question.I know I am going to have to reprint my dish. It was installed by the last home owner probably in the early 2000s. I believe it was for direct tv.that said, what satellites do you think they aimed it at?
