Satellite xml loader problem

Whenever I try to load the xml on my 7000, i get a "can't resolve hostname". What and how should I edit under var/etc to get this to work because all of the satellites that I want, do not appear in the transponder and motor setup listings so it looks like I need to edit them in some kind of way. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

You should check your communication setup in dreambox. Satellite xml loader works fine, just tried it. Turning on dhcp should usually set everything right. If that is not the case you can turn it off and get it right manually.
As for editing satellites.xml you can edit it with DCC or ultra-edit or even some text editor. You can add satellites by adding something like this to the list

<sat name="Intelsat4 (72.0E)" flags="1" position="720">
</sat>

<sat name="AsiaSat3S (105.5E)" flags="1" position="1055">
</sat>

in position value you just move decimal by one place. So if you want to add sirius 5.0 east you enter 50 for example.

Then you can use satellite configuration menu to add transponders to that satellites. Or you can add transponders while editing satellites.xml as well.

Alternatively you can tell me which satellites you need, and I can add them to satellites.xml loader and upload the result here.

Thanks Rocknroll, I was able to load the xml for 64e in manually and it's working fine.

Hi,

I have been trying to set up my dreambox in Canada, and i m not able to get echostar 7ku xml file. Can anybody help me.
