Russia’s TNT buys content company
10.56 Europe/London, January 10, 2012 By Chris Dziadul

The Russian TV channel TNT has bought a 75% minus one share stake in the production company Comedy Club Production (CCP) for an undisclosed fee.

According to Kommersant, CCP is already a leading supplier of content for TNT, which is backed by Gazprom Media, and the deal could be worth around $337.5 million (€265.2 million).

CCP’s previous majority shareholder is understood to have been Artur Dzhanibekyan, with others holding smaller stakes including Garik Martirosyan.

TNT had revenues of around $360 million in 2010, a third of which were allocated to acquiring content from CCP.
