RICARDO CARVALHO has warned Liverpool: We won’t bottle it tonight.
The Chelsea defender insists the Blues have the mental strength to see off Rafa Benitez’s men and roar into the Champions League semi-finals.
Guus Hiddink’s side have a 3-1 first-leg lead but have endured a turbulent season. Carvalho, though, reckons the Blues are better for coming through the bad times.
He said: “We are always improving. We had some problems in previous months but we have become stronger for it.
“Now we’re in good shape and want to win this competition.”
Chelsea will be without suspended captain John Terry, so Alex will line up alongside Carvalho in the centre of defence.
The two last played together in an FA Cup tie against Ipswich in January and have just one other game in the same team this season.
Kop keeper Pepe Reina reckons that if anyone can overturn Blues’ 3-1 lead, it is Liverpool.
The in-form Spaniard said: “We have the game at Old Trafford as a big example of what can be done.
“We won 4-1 and no one expected us to do that so we believe.
“We know already it’s going to be almost impossible. But, if anyone can do it, it’s going to be Liverpool.”
