ProSiebenSat.1 offers regional advertising in Bavaria

German commercial broadcast group ProSiebenSat.1 has commenced offering advertisers the possibility to book commercials solely targeting viewers in federal state Bavaria.
The distribution will be on the Bavarian cable network of Kabel Deutschland.
For advertising sales, ProSiebenSat.1 has set up a collaboration with regional TV channel association TV Bayern enabling advertisers to bundle commercials on ProSiebenSat.1’s TV channels with commercials on local and regional TV channels in Bavaria.
ProSiebenSat.1 has been offering regional commercials to the advertising industry since early 2015 following a decision by Germany’s Federal Administrative Court granting commercial TV broadcasters the right to place regional ads in nationwide programmes.
Competitor RTL carried out its first test run with regional commercials in February 2015.
