Orton HD x403p updating

My main problem is the location to obtain software updates from.
In the Menu:
Internet -> http upgrade -> Manual upgrade
The URL is set to: http://192.168.3.12/stbtest/a.abs
which would be ok if it was connected to their internal network, but I need an Internet address

The FTP setting is: ftp://192.168.3.12/pub/
with an Username: AA
and Password: **

This would also need an Internet address.

My STB details are:
Model: Ali_3602
S/W Version: 06020200_1.3.14 EMU
H/W version: ALi-HD3-LV-Ver3.0
Loader ver: M3602B 1.1.5

hi there
still getting to grips with this nifty little box myself but allthough i have only upgraded the software once i upgraded by usb it is really simple
first back up all software as this will include your chanel list
also back up your server details (if you use any )on pc with the hsdata.cfg file
then download the appropriate software there is some moded as well as the original make sure you get the correct remote version as well there is mcs and ps as well and unfortunately i forget which does what of the top of my head.
ok when downloaded unrar or unzip the file and put on usb you can also copy the hsdata.cfg as well if you need the file as you will need to add back later.
in menu then select upgrade by usb you have 3 choices software software and bootloader and channels i selected software and bootloader let it load to flash then it reboots.
ok then load back your channel list go to upgrade by usb again select your back up folder and then select chanels and let it write to flash and reboot .
then if needed your hsdata cfgby going into internet netclient config and pressing the button that looks like a magnifying glass on remote and let it load and reboot thats it about 5 to 10 mins and all done

I can follow your instructions, but I have not been able to find the upgrade software on the Internet. Anything that looks promising have dead links.
Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi,
I think I have found the updates on another post, so will try to install them in the next few days.

The update I found in the forums all were for languages other than English so I had to return to the original older version.
Any pointers to English updates would be much appreciated.

Does the same software work for both the 403 and 703 and how do i find out which remote i have, old or new?
