Opinions about my IPbox 9000Hd and Oscam

I know my Ipbox is now 3 years old and has several disadvantages over more modern Linux boxes such as the VU+ etc. IE
1) You cant run Cccam emu on this box as it has a SH4 processor (actually Oscam is better anyway)
2) The interface is a little dated and clunky
BUT
a) The Picture Quality on this box is second to none!
b) Using Oscam SH4 Stapi with this box you can decode any Newcamd N lines or Cccam C lines.
c) Using Oscam you can easily run a card server on this box.

The other thing - My opinion again!
DONT use Mgcamd 1.35 with the box for several reasons.
1) Mgcamd ONLY supports cccam up to 2.11 NOT any of the modern versions.
2) Oscam supports any N lines as a client. So it becomes an Newcamd client very easily. Newcamd is usually used for single cards or caids.
3) Oscam supports any Cccam server C lines and even supports latest Cccam 2.3 etc.

So
N: server port user password key
becomes

[oscam.server]
[reader]
label = newcamdreader
protocol = newcamd
device = server,port
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = user
password = password
disableserverfilter = 1
caid = 0963
ident = 0000:000000
group = 1

#Or as a second reader for Cccam. Cccam is useful for multicard or multicaids.

#C: server port user password key
#becomes

[reader]
label = cccamreader
protocol = cccam
device = server,port
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = user
password = password
inactivitytimeout = 1
reconnecttimeout = 5
group = 2
emmcache = 1,3,2
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-g = 1
cccmaxhops = 3
cccwantemu = 1
ccckeepalive = 1

[oscam.conf]
[global]
logfile = /dev/tty
disablelog = 1
cachedelay = 120
nice = -1
maxlogsize = 0
max_cache_time = 450

[monitor]
aulow = 0
hideclient_to = 15
appendchaninfo = 0

[dvbapi]
enabled = 1
boxtype = ipbox-pmt
user = local
pmt_mode = 4
request_mode = 1
reopenonzap = 1

[webif]
httpport = 8888
httpuser = admin
httppwd = admin
httprefresh = 5
httpallowed = 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255

Lastly the best configuration of this box is using a USB stick (for max memory) to boot a DGS type image such as SifTeam-0.9.2-r13791 or PGI 1.4. The E2 images I find unstable and unsatisfactory.

You don't say which image you are using...
But from what you are saying it sounds like you should try another version of Oscam.
For E2 images use SH4-amino Oscam
For DGS type images use Sh4 stapi Oscams

Also make sure disc swapping is on.

Hello,
I'm using Sifteam image DGS based :

SifTeam 0.9.3-13791-Extended-Gray-4.3 (Flash-Usb)

and OSCAM stapi.
The server is remote and use just cccam 2.2.1

Only thing about oscam is that some Cs servers will block you if you use oscam..
thats the only bad thing..

Oscam is great and better than cccam in some cases but if you are using cs i would ask your cs server if it is ok to use oscam

try using in oscam.server in cccam [reader] section
[reader]
cccwantemu = 1

Or declare the version under cccam [reader] section in Oscam.server

[reader]
cccversion = 2.2.1

Hi,
I'm having a same kind of problem. I'm running pgi1.4 on my ipbox 9000hd and also oscam 6499(add on 12). I want to upgrade my oscam to a newer version SH4 stapi. It's decoding but when i switch to a different channel it stops decoding. I have a part of the logging, doe anyone know this kind of problem? Logging:
