Ofcom acts against Pressley VOD site

The UK regulator Ofcom has taken enforcement action against the “Jessica Pressley” VOD site, using powers under Section 368K of the Communications Act for the first time.
Ofcom said the site, which provided free-to-view R18-equivalent pornographic content and did not have a robust paywall for its premium content, was referred to it by the Authority for Television on Demand (ATVOD), the co-regulator for video-on-demand (VOD) in the UK, in relation to breaches of ATVOD’s Rules. ATVOD had jurisdiction over this particular site because its videos were “TV-like” and because it was based in the UK.
Ofcom issued operator JP Media with a director ordering the suspension of the service on October 7, 2013. The service was closed the next day and is no longer available.
A second porn supplier, S Hilder, operator of the website “Pleasuring Herself”, has also been the subject of enforcement action.
