Newbie needs help :) - Diablo 2 light cam

Hi everybody,

I am total newbie . . . looking for a little help please. This site is so big I am sure the info must be her somewhere but at the moment I can’t find it.

I’ll start from the beginning – I’ve had a free to air receiver for a few years but have recently started to learn Dutch and thought it would be good to try and receive the Canal Digitaal package on Astra to help with this. I have just purchased a Cas 3 plus programmer and Diablo 2 light cam (not arrived as yet). I’ve been reading up on stuff on the internet but there is a couple of things that I can’t quite fathom – as far as I understand I need to download the latest underworld file, but then I see something about Diablo keys?, will I need both these files?

If anybody could explain the programming process and what I will need or at least point me in the right direction as to where I might find some info I would much appreciate it so when the cam and programmer arrives at least I will have some idea of what I am doing

And if its a Diablo Light v2 Rev3.9 or 4.0 its IPNOSYS FIRMWARE not UNDERWORLD

Only if its the older Diablo Light v1 Rev2.2 or 2.3 (or WiFi or Wireless versions of Diablo CAM) then its UNDERWORLD FIRMWARE

Remember once firmware installed use the on screen menus to setup your CAS Settings [CAS] & Config Settings [Configuration] (Two of the on screen menu options when firmware is installed and cam is in the receiver/decoder). If you are not using any official cards it is ok to turn all CAS options OFF. And the most important thing in Config Settings is turning Emulators ON.

also in the same section there are threads showing how to update the key.bin and CaIDs files (how to send key.bin and CAID.XML, MAIN.XML etc to the CAM)

If you are only interested in Canal Digitaal NL you should know a couple of other things. It is only the channels on 19.2E Encrypted in Irdeto2 (I2) that are open, see here: http://en.kingofsat.net/pack-canaldigitaal.php (although the MTV channels [excluding MTV NL, MTV Live HD] are also open with other keys)

And these I2 channels always use CaID 0622 which is included in the CaIDs file with the IPNOSYS/UNDERWORLD firmware install.

You will need to update the key.bin every week (as keys are currently changing once a week)

Many thanks for the prompt reply and the info . . . begining to understand, I think I have or will have the Diablo Light v2 Rev3.9 - so the IPNOSYS firmware is something separate from the key.bin and CaIDs files?, still can't quite figure out how many files I am going to need

1) Install firmware.

2) Download & send latest key.bin to cam.

SO TWO FILES in most cases

(may need THREE FILES may need a CaIDs XML FILE also but wait to you get your cam install the firmware, and download & send latest file to cam and test in you receiver/decoder first....the CAIDs file that is installed automatically with the IPNOSYS install may be ok)

Well cam and programmer have arrived, I have downloaded the latest keys and as the cam is Diablo Light Rev2.3 I guess I need the Underworld file; just one question what is the latest Underworld file? would it be Underworld218? as Underworld219 is for Wifi only? . . . sorry if I seem to need wet nursing through this, I will get there eventually

One Small thing.....as I mentioned to you earlier Canal Digitaal NL keys change every week....and its just bad timing (for you) but down at the moment awaiting the new keys from those super experts MASARE Team (snakie) and/or rnw :thum:

You getting the other stuff on 19.2E ok, ORF Eins, SportDigital.tv, HustlerTV, AXN Action/Germany, MTV Music 24, MTV Dance, MTV Hits etc (note there are duplicate MTVs on 11739V only one MTV Hits will open etc with older CAM [Diablo Light v1 Rev2.3] and Underworld, but you can use Fausto Emulator (FE) and your PC in combination with a Season Interface to open the Canal Sat 19.2E channels that are open with public EMU......or you can use a Funcard programed with the appropriate file "funvia_022610_08_09" and Viaccess turned on in the CAS Settings).

Thanks once again for the update, much appreciated . . . well I think I must have done everything right because I could see HustlerTV, not really into porn but at least it shows the cams working! just need some new Canal Digitaal keys now. Just one question: when I add the new keys to the cam so far I have just been adding the "keys.bin" file but there are also a number of other files in the downloaded zip, are these needed and if so where on the cam’s file structure should they go?

You can just put the key.bin.

When i watching Canal Digitaal NL for long periods I use the C+NED and watching Bulsatcom I use the BULSAT in Caids.

My Settings and work fine!!!

Whilst waiting for keys you can still brush up on your Dutch on the following FTA (Free to Air) channels:

BVN (Beste van Vlaanderen en Nederland) on 19.2E (12515H) & 13E (10815H).

TV Noord, TV Drenthe, TV Oost, TV Gelderland, Omroep Zeeland Televisie on 23.5E (11914H).

I’m really pleased have got my diablo cam up and working but was a bit concerned to read in another thread that Canal Digitaal will not be using Irdeto2 for much longer, is that right? Excuse my ignorance here but does that mean that keys cannot be obtained for Mediaguard and Nagravision etc?, or is it that the Diablo cam can not be programmed for those?. . . also if that’s the case does that mean it’s the end of the line for being able to view Canal Digitaal or are there any other options? Sorry for all the questions guys but still a newbie to all this and still trying to get my head around it
