MultiChoice’s GOtv launches in Ghana
January 21, 2013

MultiChoice’s low-cost digital-terrestrial pay TV service GOtv has launched in Ghana.

The service includes a range of local and international channels, with an introductory offer of a decoder, three months’ subscription and a DTT aerial available for GHS153 (€70).

GOtv will broadcast all 32 games from the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament. Channels on the platform include Africa Magic, Africa Magic Movies, Blackbelt TV, Disney Junior, CNN, SuperSport Blitz, Select Sports, Discovery World, NatGeo Wild, Vox Africa and Channel O.

The service is broadcasting using the DVB-T2 standard, allowing a greater number of channels per frequency. The operating company, GOtv Ghana, formerly known as DStv Mobile Gahan, has held a terrestrial broadcasting licence in the country since 1993.

The latest launch follows GOtv launches in a number of African countries including Zambia, Uganda and Nigeria over the last two years.
