Moviecity to release ‘Spartacus’ simultaneously with the United States
The movies channel Moviecity Premieres will release the first chapter of the final season of ‘Spartacus, War of the Damned’, a day after its launching in the United States through the Pay-TV channel Starz. Even though the release in the premium channel will take place on January 27, it will be offered on January 26 through Moviecity Play.
The TV Everywhere platform will enable all subscribers of the Premium channel package in Latin America to enjoy the series a day before being released in Pay-TV. Access will be available through PCs, tablets, smartphones and other connected devices.
American networks seem to have noticed the inherent advantages of the new technologies and the way in which windows are getting increasingly smaller. This year, HBO broadcasted simultaneously for Latin America the second season of the series ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘True Blood’. Starz followed the same steps with ‘Spartacus: Vengance’ and AMC with the third season of ‘The Walking Dead’.
‘Spartacus’ has been translated into fifteen languages and is broadcasted in more than 150 countries. In the United States, ratings are increasingly higher every year. More than 6 million people have seen each episode, which turns the show into one of the greatest box-office earners in Pay-TV history.
