Mediaset Spain Launches New Network
Energy, the company's new network aimed at young, urban men, will officially begin broadcasting content on January 9. This is Mediaset Spain's seventh network within its TV offer.
Mediaset will begin airing content through its new network Energy on January 9, 2012, following successful test runs on Tuesday, December 27. Energy is aimed at a masculine audience, particularly young men who live in the city. The channel completes Mediaset Spain's TV offer which also includes Telecinco, Cuatro, LaSiete, Factoría de Ficción, Boing and Divinity, all aimed at different specific audiences and demographics.
The new network will produce its own talk shows and a daily late night programming; yet it will focus mainly on sports: it will broadcast Mediaset Spain's sporting events for public TV, such as the Motorcycling World Tournament's three categories, the 2012 Soccer Euro Cup, the Copa del Rey de Fútbol, the UEFA Europe League, NBA games, the UEFA Futsal Championship and the Fútbol 7 Championship. Other sports will also be present in shows such as The Ultimate Fighting Championship, Top Gear, Monster Jam, Humor Amarillo and Gladiadores del Siglo XX.
Energy will also premiere international fictional series such as Sons of Anarchy, Spartacus and Strike Back. Mondays through Thursdays, the network will air movies in prime time, including titles like Sin control, Daredevil, Cuestión de pelotas, Rescate al límite, Hostage, Cadena perpetua and Isi Disi: alto voltaje; in addition to several docu-realities.
