A filmmaker has come up with a novel way to propose to his girlfriend -- by producing a LEGO stop-motion animation.

Walt Thompson took more than 2,500 photos and editing them to tell the story of two Lego figures who fall in love and get married.

He then copied the animation to a DVD an directed his girlfriend of four years, Nealey Dozier, to watch it.

At the end of the video, when the words "Will you marry me?" appeared on the screen, Thompson dropped to his knee and produced a box containing the Lego bride and groom holding the ring.
Nealey said yes and the pair are thinking of marrying in spring 2013.
