Lithuania assesses ASO
December 7, 2012 08.12 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Although analogue switch off passed off relatively smoothly in Lithuania, around 15,000 families, or 1.2% of the total surveyed, were left without TV services.

Data produced by RAIT for the incumbent telco TEO LT, which operates DTT and IPTV services under the brand name Gala, also shows that 5% of respondents, or 60,000 families, were not entirely ready digital TV, with at least one TV set in their homes not equipped to receive services.

A similar survey undertaken in Estonia showed that 0.5% of families were without TV a month after ASO in 2010.

However, the process went less smoothly in Latvia.

Lithuania completed the transition to digital broadcasting at the end of October.
