Lagardere ponders Czech deal failure

Lagardere has spoken publicly about its failure to buy the long-established Czech music channel Ocko.
Quoted in Digizone, Michel Fleischmann, the president of Lagardere Active CR, said that negotiations between it and the publishing company Mafra, Ocko’s current owner, came to and end last year when the two parties could not agree on price.
Lagardere was also against the idea of entering into a 50/50 joint venture with Mafra, preferring instead to have a majority stake in Ocko.
Fleischmann also said that it had rejected the chance of buying into TV Barrandov.
