**Austrian public broadcaster ORF plans to offer some of its archive material in a paid-for VOD service to be called Austria’s Gold. The broadcaster already has a very extensive catch-up library online, which is free of charge.
**Al Jazeera will be streaming its Arabic and English TV news channels through a custom built application for all Samsung smart TVs.
**Germany’s public broadcaster ARD will rename its digital thematic channel EinsExtra into Tagesschau24 and turn it into a 24/7 news channel. The broadcaster might also change name and focus of its other two digital channels, EinsPlus and Einsfestival.
