Hungary will complete its digital switchover today (October 31) at 12.30pm CET.

In a statement, the regulator NMHH says that ASO will take place in the northwest and southeast parts of the country, the first part of the two-stage process, completed on July 31, having affected 14 counties in Central Hungary.

The NMHH also says that it has to date installed 135,000 receivers in the homes of the more needy members of the population and will offer to help others until November 30.

The national transmission company Antenna Hungária has spent HUF25 billion (€85 million) on building the necessary infrastructure for digital TV and radio services.

It now has 90 digital sites, covering 99% of the population.
