Hungarian broadband market grows

Hungary ended last November with 143,848 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem subscriptions, according to data published by the regulator NMHH.

The total number of cable broadband subscriptions stood at 813,091, while the xDSL and FTTx totals were 800,049 and 258,221 respectively.

Taken as a whole, the number of fixed-access broadband subscriptions in the country amounted to 2,053,000.

Magyar Telekom (T-Home) was the leading fixed broadband provider, claiming a market share of 34.8%, followed by UPC (20.9%), Digi (12.5%) and Invitel (9.8%).
