As a health a safety instructor, Paul Cavanagh knows the importance of using items like ladders correctly… or he should.
Unfortunately he recently came a cropper while giving a demonstration to colleagues on how to prevent accidents and embarrassingly fell, toppling to the ground.
Even worse for him, the moment was caught on camera and has since gone viral online. And after bosses saw the clip he's reportedly been suspended.
In the video Cavanagh is seen working outside a semi-detached house in Gateshead without a hard-hat, not holding on with his hands… and falling over a fence and into a neighbouring garden.
A spokesperson for employer Morrison, said: "Having reviewed the video ourselves it appears that a number of fundamental errors were made by this individual, which resulted in the accident taking place.
"These errors suggests that a number of our standard health and safety protocols were not followed and as a consequence we had no option but to instigate a suspension pending a full internal investigation."
