German HD+ platform continues to grow

HD+, the fee-based satellite platform carrying the HD versions of commercial TV channels for German DTH households on Astra (19.2° East), has won 47,089 new paying customers in Q2 2014.
In total, the encrypted offering had 1.54 million customers on June 30, 2014, corresponding with an increase by 350,520 customers within one year.
In general, the figures show, however, a slowed down growth. In Q2 2013 HD+ won 89,183 new customers – almost twice as many as in Q2 this year. Also, the platform recorded considerably stronger growth in Q1 2014 with 83,761 new customers.
Further 1.3 million households currently use HD+ in the free trial period.
