FilmBox widens CEE reach

IBC 2001 – AMSTERDAM. SPI International has signed agreements with two of Romania’s leading pay-TV providers.
Speaking to Broadband TV News, Lukasz Bulka, director of marketing at SPI International Polska, said that they are with Romtelecom, which will now carry FilmBox Basic and Extra 1; and UPC Romania, which will distribute FilmBox, FilmBox HD, Extra 1 and Family.
Meanwhile in the Czech Republic, freeSAT (the former UPC Direct), will carry FilmBox Family and FilmBox Extra 1.
Bulka added that the new on demand service FilmBoxLive.com is expected to make its debut in Poland in mid-November and then be rolled out to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
It will launch with 600 titles and also include most of the TV channels in the FilmBox portfolio.
