Hello everyone,

I am new to Satellite receivers (and to this forum!)

I have a Ferguson Ariva 103 HD Satellite Receiver which I would like to use newcamd.

I have searched the forum and do not see many references to this model.

What I would like to ask is: -

1. Can I use newcamd with this model?
2. If so, is there a firmware (EMU?) update available?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

No replies - is this because the box is unknowon?

Or have I asked the wrong questions?

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for the links.

I put the A103 update onto a flash stick and loaded it into the receiver.

However, now I get nothing. The receiver says 'On' but the TV says no signal.

Is there a way to hard reset the receiver?

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Again, thanks.

Hi,

Anyone?

Can I force a reload of the firmware or do a factory reset on the A103?

Thanks

Hello, I am still unable to use the box.

I have trawled the internet to see how to hard reset or force load the firmware to no avail.

Does anyone know if it is possible - or impossible?

I did read somewhere about loading via a serial port - might this be feasible? If so, are there and (idiot proof!) instructions about?

Or do I have just an expensive paperweight??!??!?

Thanks in advance

Ha-ha! Success...

Having tried at least 5 or 6 RS232 cables that I have had forever with no success I was about to give up.

However, I needed a couple of audio cables and adapters which I was going to purchase from Kenable in the UK.

So I looked up a 9 pin female to 9 pin female null modem cable and added it to my order.

The delivery was made within 3 days to Spain and, hey presto, I could communicate with the Ferguson!!!

First uploaded the stock firmware as suggested by *H1* which gave me an out-of-the-box A103.

Then updated using the patch linked to by JAKITAKI.

Now I have an Ariva A103 with camd etc. running.

So my sincere gratitude to all on this forum but especially to *H1* and JAKITAKI

Keep up the good work and thanks for putting up with a newbie like me...
