ESPN inks Bundesliga deal
July 24, 2012 11.30 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

ESPN and DFL, the commercial arm of the Bundesliga, have reached an agreement for live coverage of the German league to remain on ESPN in the UK and Ireland for the next three seasons.

It includes exclusive rights to live TV coverage, along with rights to the German SuperCup, promotion and relegation matches, a weekly preview and highlights programme, as well as rights for content across VOD, online and mobile platforms.

ESPN offers its viewers a wide range of UK and European football, which this upcoming season will include the Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Europa League and other European domestic leagues.

However, ESPN will no longer show coverage of the Premier League from the start of the 2013/14 season, having lost out to BT Vision.
