router´s WiFi option "Allow connection with new devices" disabled?
or
router set to 5Ghz WLAN n?

(dreambox 8000´s inbuilt WiFi mini PCI connector allows only 2.4 GHz 54 Mbit/s WLAN a/b/g)

Maybe the use of a WiFi bridge (e.g.: Netgear wnce2001) may help you.

Good day ararat.Today i saw your suggestions.I will check what you are informing me.It is very strange because my laptop,my two mobile phones connect easily and with strong wi fi signal. For this reason i didnt start thinking about buying even a bridge.....

i didnt start thinking about buying even a bridge.....
I only proposed for the case, you´wouldn´t find any other solution.
WiFi bridge attached to LAN socket of dm8000 should nearly always work, if nothing else helps;).
(Besides: A discussion on DMM board just showed, that some dm8000 WLAN users have problems with their boxes not always booting properly from standby. One developer of DMM OE2.0 firmware (Ghost) got informed and promised on May, 15th to try to fix this. Therefore and with dm8000´s WLAN a/b/g 54 MBit/s I´d rather use quicker/stable LAN or LAN with external WiFi bridge, anyway.)

Not knowing your devices, I had to guess, because you didn´t write exactly what router, what phone, what laptop (WiFi connection).

I assumed, though, that you are not a novice to WLAN and that you entered correct WiFi connection data in dm8000´s WLAN settings.
I hope you did not forget to fill in "primary DNS" (below "gateway")? (in most cases = the router´s own IP adress).
Therfore I tended to believe, that rather your hardware didnt want to connect for some reason (and I assumed you would know if thick walls at home spoiled your WLAN connection;)).

So, if
- you entered WLAN password correctly,
- activated your router´s and your dm8000´s DHCP - so that correct IP address gets used
- you filled in all other lines correctly (Subnet mask, gateway, primary DNS)
and your sister´s router´s MAC address filter is not activated, but the WLAN settings "allow connection of unknown devices"
then WLAN connection should work - except the router is set to 5 GHz, only.
(Mine is not - but some people do set this for better connection, when they only have modern WLAN N 5 GHz devices at home and too many interfering neighbours with 2,4 GHz WLAN around)

If it were so (router set to 5 GHz), then your other devices may work, because:
- your router may have a DECT phone base (like my Fritz!Box has) and your phones are DECT phones (like mine) - (or they are WLAN N phones?)
- your laptop´s WiiFi supports WLAN N 5 GHz (like my laptop does)
while your dreambox may not be working, because it could no way connect to WLAN 5 GHz (or WLAN N at all).
---

Sometimes you may spoil a WiFi connection by just misspelling one letter in a password.
Maybe that even your dm8000´s mini PCI wifi card has busted.

Diagnosis is difficult from a distance:mecry:
Sorry, that I can´t help better. Hope you`ll find the reason:thum:.

Hello ararat.DM 8000 detects the router but can not obtain ip.I dont know if something has to do with my sisters router(ZTE from the internet provider). For many years in my house i used Belkin.
My HP laptop and my two mobiles(iphone and Samsung) connect without a problem.I even tried with a Belkin wi fi stick from my DM 800,but with this one the signal was extremely low....

Hi marioshamb.
Sorry for late answer. Was busy - got a new pc last week - installed new hardware and software (graphics card, SSDs, HDD, then win8.1 + all programs, etc.). Had to solve some problems, myself;).
---
I even tried with a Belkin wi fi stick from my DM 800,but with this one the signal was extremely low....
If your wifi stick had low signal and if you used the stick with your dreambox at its usual place of installation, then I guess the signal is just too low for a sufficient connection at this spot in the house.
Did you already try to get a wifi connection elsewhere with your dreambox (situated more closely to the router)? If connection works then, you,ll at least know that the dreambox´s wifi connector has not busted and the box was only placed at a blind spot in the house. (Then, off course - even buying a wfi bridge predictably wouldn´t help).

You may even test your box´s wifi connection at different places in the house without having lnb/sat cable attached, as long as you have a tv/monitor at hand with which you can control, what the dreambox´s menu shows.
But before carrying around unnecessarily your dreambox you may as well first try your other wifi devices (iPhone/Samsung) exactly at the place, where your dreambox usually is placed.
Do the phones still get a good wifi signal there?
a) If the signal is still good for the phones, then probably s.th. may be wrong with internal wifi connector of your dreambox and then a wifi bridge may be the cheapest, easiest and best solution (Netgear wnce2001 ~ 30 €).
b) If the signal is low for your phones at the place, where your dreambox is placed, then you would rather need a wifi repeater at home, that extends the range.

my sisters router(ZTE from the internet provider)
ZTE router (never heard of that company before - I just googled and found some offers at Amazon):
If your sister e.g. has UMTS router "ZTE MF60" - then maybe you and your sister together are using too many wifi connections already? (ZTE MF 60 allows up to 8 wifi connections at a time - this router is a device given e.g. to customers by provider O2).

Why I mention UMTS router? Because:
The only ZTE router for cable installed Internet connection that I found at Amazon, was the ZTE E5501 and this one was compareably so extremely cheap (20,49 €) that I can hardly think a provider gives it to his customers (where I live, they usually tend to give away far more expensive models to rely on for years, because their support/helplines are more expensive for them than giving away expensive quality devices).
Besides the possibility, that there may exist a better ZTE model, that I didn´t find, I am only judging the unknown ZTE 5501 device by it´s low price now, what may be not fair (it may be cheap, but work well - I can´t know).

That´s why I guessed, you may be using ZTE MF60 UMTS router
a) it´s a known provider´s device, b) it´s not toooo cheap ~ 40 - 60 €)

If so (ZTE UMTS router) - then 8 connections at a time only.
-------

If cable connected ZTE router (e.g. DSL / attached to fixed socket outlet):
DM 8000 detects the router but can not obtain ip.
You may try to set your router and your dreambox to fixed IP adresses. Perhaps s.th. is wrong with DHCP. You needn´t generally switch off DHCP in router, though.
You may just only shut off DHCP in wifi setup of dm8000 and then enter your own (not yet used) ip-address for dreambox, that lies in your router´s range of supported ip-addresses.
Then you could add your dreambox manually to yor router (in wifi setup of router "add devices").
Problem: To add a wifi device manually, you will first need the MAC-Address of this device (your dreambox).
To obtain this MAC address, you could temporarily attach your dreambox with LAN cable to your router (with DHCP settings still unchanged in dreambox and router) and then enter in Windows`command window (you need administrative rights for Windows):
arp -a IP-adr.of your Dreambox
When you know the address you can enter it in wifi setup of your router.

In your router you should afterwards activate an option called s.th. like "always give this ip address to this device", so that it won´t change any more unwantedly.

(I even use this option / a fixed ip-address for my box with LAN connection.)

Sorry again, that I can´t help better:mecry:.
Maybe I hopefully gave you some useful hints, what you may try (.. although I doubt it ..).

Hello marioshamb:)
Sorry to hear of low signal.
Then only a wifi repeater may help you.

- or, if your router has LAN cable onnectors, but you don´t want to use long cable at home, you may try s.th. like e.g. "Devolo dLAN 500 AVmini Starter Kit mit 2x HomePlug AV-Adapter" to connect your dreambox with your router through power supply sockets of your home.

Hope you find s.th. that suits your needs. :):thum:

If the two appartements were on the same current phase i could use this solution....

Neighbouring appartments may be sometimes. Hopefully yours, too.;)
If not, you may return the homeplug system (e.g. Amazon).
Good luck!:thum:
