Subscriber erosion is back at Digital+, though amid a falling churn rate, the Spanish satellite platform was able to achieve a €77.69 million EBITDA on increased margins.

At the end of June, Prisa’s pay-TV operations had 1.79 million subscribers. 23,106 came from wholesale distribution, following recent cable sector deals for Canal+, and DTT.

Subscribers to the iPlus and Multi+ services increased by 40%. It was the PVR product that helped last quarter’s subscriber rise to 1,813,287.

Prisa has become the latest operator to agree to distribute their content via the Samsung Electronics’ devices. Digital+ will now be distributed from the company’s internet-enabled connected TVs, Blu-Ray, tablets or mobile phones.

Initially this will include live broadcasts from Canal+, Canal+ Fútbol, Canal+ Deportes, Canal+ Golf and 40 TV.
