Czech Prima hits back in dispute

FTV Prima, the operator of the Czech national commercial broadcaster TV Prima, has rejected what it says are false claims by the country’s Regional Television Authority (RTA).
In a statement, FTV Prima denies that the RTA is licensed to continue using frequencies it currently shares with the broadcaster from the beginning of next year up to 2018.
FTV Prima CEO Mark Singer also calls for foreign investors to be protected from actions such as those currently being undertaken by the RTA, which he says are illegal.
Last week it was reported that the RTA planned to contact Office for Protection of Competition, the Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting (RRTV) and Czech Telecoms Office (CTU) over the dispute.
FTV Prima is backed by MTG and besides TV Prima operates the thematic channels Prima Cool and Prima Love.
