CTC Media increases Kazakhstan presence

Russia’s CTC Media, which is backed by Modern Times Group (MTG), has signed an exclusive long-term agreement with Central Asia Media Distribution.
Under it, the CTC International channel will be promoted on Kazakhstan’s cable and satellite networks.
The pay-TV market in Kazakhstan already comprises of over 500,000 households and as a result of the agreement Digital TV and Icon TV, two of the country’s largest cable operators, began to distribute CTC International at the beginning of this month.
They are likely to be joined by a third operator, named ID TV, in near future.
CTC Media already has a presence in Kazakhstan through its Channel 31 service.
