Conax inks Russian deal
11.27 Europe/London, February 7, 2012 By Chris Dziadul

Conax has strengthened its cooperation with Moscow-based National Cable Networks (NCN) by agreeing to provide OnLime.net with a comprehensive solution for securing video rental.

It includes a Conax security-certified set-top box from Humax that will give OnLime.net, offering subscribers over 3,000 of content through its Videoprokat service, a high degree of protection.

The latter was launched on a trial basis in December 2011 and is being provided free of charge for six months, after which it will operate on a commercial basis.

NCN was established in 2001 and is part of Rostelecom-backed National Telecommunications. It provides services to over 3 million households in Moscow. I

ts sister companies in St Petersburg (TKT) and Yekaterinburg (NCN Eurasia) have cooperated with Conax since 2004 and 2005 respectively.
