A Chinese teenager has survived having a his skull pierced by a sword as he messed around with classmates. Why yes, there is a terrifying X-ray image!
The unfortunate owner of this X-rayed noggin is Zhang Bin, a 15-year-old student from China who recently found out the hard way why it's not a good idea to play with weapons.
In case you were wondering, it's because the solid white bit in the X-ray image isn't the tool of a doctor pointing out something interesting... it's the tip of the sword which was lodged in his forehead.
Zhang says the accident happened when a group of classmates went to visit him at home and one of them brought a sword. As you do.
One minute his pal was standing at the other end of the room, the next the sword was stabbing into his head. Zhang says he doesn't know how the sword flew at him, but we could have a guess.
He was then rushed to a local hospital - with the sword still sticking out of his head - but because medics there were unable to treat him, he was taken to another hospital 250 miles away.
There doctors conducted a four hour operation to remove the weapon (pictured) which was impaled 5cm into his forehead, and now Zhang is amazingly expected to make a full recovery.
