An office worker set up an iPhone app and webcam to check on her dog while she was at work – then tuned in to find a burglar searching her bedroom.
Claire Blevins bought the £3 iCam so she could use her phone to watch her terrier Callie playing.
But she instead caught the thief when he triggered a motion sensor on the webcam in her house.
The 23-year-old said: ‘I’m really thankful I had the app. It’s good to know what he touched, what he went through and things like that but it’s still the creepiest thing that’s happened to me.
'It’s just weird and gross and wrong.’
A suspect is on trial for the burglary in Denver, US, after the footage was shown on TV there last month.
He denies the charge.
