Bulsatcom loses football rights
January 17, 2013 08.56 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Bulsatcom has lost the rights to show games from the Bulgarian Group A Football Championship.

According to Novinite, this happened at the end of 2012 but has only just now come to light in a letter sent by Football Media Pro, the company that owns the rights to the tournament.

Games from the tournament have until now been aired by the TV channels TV+ and Film+, which are distributed mostly by Bulsatcom and are believed to have ownership links with the company.

Both the public broadcaster BNT and commercial station TV7 are understood to be favourites to acquire the rights.

Bulsatcom is the leading distributor of cable channels in Bulgaria and currently involved in a dispute with CME-backed bTV Media Group.
