Bounce TV, the first-ever over-the-air broadcast television network for African Americans will launch 26 September on Gannett Broadcasting’s WATL-TV. The agreement is Bounce TV’s first with Gannett. Bounce TV currently has affiliation agreements with Gannett, Belo Corporation, Nexstar Communications, LIN TV Corporation and Raycom Media. The Atlanta-based network expects to be available in at least 50% of the country by this September.

“We’re thrilled to add Bounce TV to the growing list of media properties of The Networks of 11Alive. Given that Atlanta is the birthplace of civil rights, we’re confident that a network for African Americans will be very well received within this market,” says John Deushane, President and General Manager of Gannett’s WXIA-TV/WATL-TV.

Bounce TV Executive Vice President of Distribution, Jeffrey Wolf adds, “The addition of Atlanta is significant and shows that important station groups continue to see the enormous value in carrying Bounce TV. We are thrilled to be affiliated with Gannett and the Networks of 11Alive in our hometown.”

Bounce TV will target African Americans between the ages of 25-54 with a programming mix of theatrical movies, live sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-network series, original programming and more. In addition to Atlanta, the network will be seen in at least 13 other cities, including Houston, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana and Richmond, Virginia. Bounce TV will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week as a digital network designed to be carried on the digital signals of local television stations.
