Cable operators in Bosnia & Herzegovina have been prohibited from rebroadcasting the Croatian station Nova TV.

According to Seebiz, the ban has been imposed with immediate effect by the Communications Regulatory Authority (RAK) of Bosnia & Herzegovina, the regulator having previously written to cable operators and relevant regulatory agencies requesting that the channel is no longer distributed.

Failure to comply with the ban could lead to the imposition of fines of up to KM150,000 (€76,685).

AKOP, the cable association in Bosnia & Herzegovina, says it is currently negotiating with Nova TV through a legal representative.

Although AKOP says it has all the necessary copyright agreements in place for its members to rebroadcast Nova TV, this is something the Croatian station denies.
