Arabsat to carry Blue Nile

Arabsat hs added the Sudanese Blue Nile Channel to the Sudanese bouquet, broadcast from the recently built platform shared between the Sudanese radio and television agency and Arabsat.

Hassan Fadl Al-Mawla, general manager of the channel, said “As a part of Blue Nile Channel ambitious and ongoing access to the Sudanese and the Arab viewers anywhere around the world, we are using Arabsat satellites Badr -5 to expand the channel coverage throughout the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

“The Blue Nile channel is very happy with this strategic relationship with Arabsat and hopes it will continue and grow in the coming years that will witness a great development in the Blue Nile channel plans including full transition to HD.”

In a related development, Arabsat and BBC have announced the renewal of their agreement for five years to broadcast BBC Arabic TV and radio channels via Arabsat satellite Badr 4 at 26 degrees East.

Eng. Khalid bin Ahmed Balkhyour, president and CEO of Arabsat, said that Arabsat is currently finalising the manufacture and launching of its sixth generation of satellites “that will secure Arabsat leadership in the satellite telecommunications and broadcasting market in the region, in addition to Arabsat diversity of services delivered to its customers to meet all their future requirements.
