Al Jazeera to move frequency on Nilesat

Al Jazeera channels will be moving to a new frequency on Nilesat come 1 January 2016, affecting viewers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
From the start of the new year, Al Jazeera Arabic will cease to broadcast on 10992V and 11564H; Al Jazeera Mubasher will no longer be at 10796V and 11526H; Al Jazeera Documentary will stop broadcasting at 12054V; and Al Jazeera English will no longer be found at 12015V on Nilesat.

Instead, viewers should retune to 10971V on the Nilesat (Eutelsat 8WB [Nilesat] 8°W) orbital location for all channels broadcast by Al Jazeera Media Network. After successful testing of the new frequency since October 2015. For those receiving the channels via C-Band the Arabsat 20E 4054L transmissions should continue, the reshufle will only affect Nilesat frequencies.

“This change is part of Al Jazeera’s continuous pursuit of the latest technologies in the world of satellite and digital broadcasting. The new frequency will ensure uninterrupted access to Al Jazeera channels for our viewers in the MENA region. It will be placed on the recently launched Eutelsat satellite in the same orbit,” said Ibrahim Nassar, manager of teleport, Al Jazeera.
