what difference does a pvr receiver have? What is that it can offer more than others?

i loaded the new software,BUT when i tried to turn the receiver(sr-x30cu ultra) on in hotbird it failed to turn on,so i loaded the old soft.does this happened to someone else??

why isn't RAI working on sr-x30cu,i mean the encrypted programs? it works on most other receivers for ex. sr-x3200cu ultra. anyone has the solution???
