HELP ME ipbox 9000 crash

switch off IPbox at the back.
press the "on" button on the front.
switch IPbox back on at the back.
leave front button pressed in until "USB UPGRADE"
and try flashing again.

hello,

i have exactly the sme problem - tried several times to flash again. some images are working, some note - any ideas?

also tried to upgrade uboot to the lastest version - but still some images not running. like sif team latest version 8022

Hi,
you can`t replace some image with other image, if you previously did not put orginal DGS image. ABcom image and DGS Cube Revo images are different.If you will replace NLB with SIF Team or Abcom, you must first uploade DGS original image and after other NLB, or SIF etc.

Hi,
If you cant get USB upgrade how you could get Erasing and flashing 100%? You have to use Flash Tools 1.02 , and install driver. PC is connected with IP with USB 1.0- that is no standard USB, then other one-port is like small quadrat.

Although if you successfully loaded lasted uboot it should be only power button, but worth to try other options.

I guess I have never really understood this 'uboot' - I have ALWAYS used the Press and hold power, wait for booting then press UP - it's always worked...

What it the sequence of events? What do you see after 'BOOTING' ?

Ipbox 9000 Major crash

Hi all

it seems i have the same problem..

I flashed my box with uboot 1.3.1

now on startup all i get is weird characters on the display.

I an unable to enter usb upgrade mode or serial mode so cannot reflash anything!

I have tried holding the power and every combination of arrow key... nothing!

Is there a way to clear the flash or override the initial startup?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have also tried holding the on/off button but to no avail

The box just displays "@32£@****<*&^%"

I think i may of had a corrupt uboot file, is there anyway to overwite this file without using the onboard upgrade?

i can still access the files by ftp.

We have 2 version:

- network support. not needed for general user.

- usb host support. recommended for general user.

I think, If You use wrong uboot, you have big trouble.
Only JTAG connector solve Your problem.

This sounds bad,,
Can you get serial-log from hyperterminal and post it?,,
No Public JTAG available yet!

Try use SeriBoxLogger v.1.0.1.2

utility for capture serial port (need null-cable)

Bricked box

Hi all

Firstly thank you to all those who have replied.

Good news and bad news!

I have managed to flash the latest ABcom image onto the ipbox by using telnet.
Now when you switch on i still get the "*^$356*(*^%$" on the display and after a bit it displays "Start" and boots normally
Seems to be working fine!

I still cannot get into usb or serial upgrade so i can reflash uboot.
If i try to reflash uboot with telnet i get:-

make tmp root directory.

open image file... : usb_uboot.img
lseek...mmap...ok.
checking received image...
CRC32 OK
got uboot image.
erase 9ffc0000 - 9fffffff
MEMERASE: Invalid argument

Oops!!!.
Your system could NOT updated properly.
System cannot boot in next power up.
Try to update to DGStation official flash image with FlashTool.
unmount /media
Press power key to reboot the system.

I cannot connect to the ipbox with flashtool because i cannot get the box into flash mode.

You say that You must flash image from telnet?
In this case, I think that You have solution for resolve Your problem.

1.) download from dgstation this uboot

******************
- usb host support. recommended for general user.

ftp://dev.dgstation.co.kr/pub/cuberevo/netupg/DGStation/uboot/usb_uboot-1.3.1-20080519.zip

2.) unzip and You have "usb_uboot.img"
3.) copy in box in folder "/tmp"
4.) goto telnet
5.) type few next command
.....cd /tmp
.....echo usb_boot.img >images
.....update.sh /tmp /tmp/images

If everything is OK, You have correct uboot in Your box.
