Probably arrive next week as it's the weekend.Well but.... where is it?
Hi @dog-manI set a recording for yesterday. A 4.5 hour recording, and it recorded as it should.
That has reinforced my belief that doing a scan for channels when there are outstanding events planned for recording may well be the issue, even though they are still in the event timer.
I agree.Hi @dog-man
Glad to hear the recording worked and thanks for this information.
Your inference does sound logical to me as well.
It's as if the outstanding events in the planner have some internal unknown to us numbering system assigned to each channel.
Then, when you do your scan, the internal numbering system gives each scanned channel new numbers.
This would likely mean that the channels with outstanding events in the planner wouldn't match the newly scanned channels
internal numbers, especially if the scan finds new channels or some channels have been removed.
This could mean every time you do a new scan, you have to update and reset your recording event planner to match your
new scan. Only way to find out is to try this every time you do a new scan I guess.
That's very interesting and helpful as almost all of us on here will watch feeds quite regularly.I agree.
I discovered another issue with planned recordings.
I had two events planned. I made sure that I did a blind scan before entering details for the recordings.
I checked about an hour after the first one should have started to record and noticed that the receiver was off. Not recording.
I investigated and found that the clock was showing the incorrect time. It was slow by around 3 hours.
I checked the time settings, and they were as I set them. Correct time zone and take the time from my router as I have always done.
I remembered that not so long ago, I had a similar thing happen.
I am pretty sure this was caused by the fact that the last thing I had looked at, before powering down, was a live FTA feed on 28.2E.
It was a horse racing feed. I assume the receiver adjusted its time because of this feed.
I have, since then, always made a point of making sure that the last transmission checked is a UK one.
Mind you, I believe the racing feeds were also UK based. Perhaps they were intended for another country.
Instead, it's a good idea to let people know if there's news; that's why we're in the forum tooProbably best not alerting people about planned updates in future, just let them find out for themselves.
Ah okay, so if a feed is 4:2:0 then you're not able to view it? Screen is often stuck on "Updating Biss Key, please wait...", or takes about 20 mins or so to be found. I often have to resort to viewing on SmartDVB, which isn't ideal. No need for any of that squiffy .
IF A Feed is 4:2:2 then you simply need DVB Card/Box to view .
@Squiffy No, it's the other way round.Ah okay, so if a feed is 4:2:0 then you're not able to view it? Screen is often stuck on "Updating Biss Key, please wait...", or takes about 20 mins or so to be found. I often have to resort to viewing on SmartDVB, which isn't ideal.
