CSA Rainbow Questions.

I'm playing around with CSA Rainbow and had a few questions and wanted to make sure that I understand what's going on with the project. Basically the project is dead, but you can still download the chain files for both versions.

Version two is a bit faster than version one. Version one finds more CW's than version two.

You can not make any chains in version two for version two as those chains wont be accepted due to them not being in the chainauthor.map

You can make B8hx00h chains in version two but they will only work in version one.

Version one you can make all chains depending on what software version of version one you use. These can only be made in version one.

I was looking at using my GTX 1070 to manually build chains versus having a large download. In CSA it shows that the cores on my 1070 is -15, versus other cards where it lists cores in the positive. Any idea if that is accurate. The 1070 isnt as fast as you would think, and I am wondering if maybe it's an issue with Cuda. I'm on the latest driver from Nividia.

So far what I have posted, is that accurate?

Project is not dead ,but is closed.

GTX 1070 is good card ,but for make chain for youself will need 24h for one chain, for good table will need 100-200 chains, why will take you time when have already make it.
The best is 1080 Ti at this moment.
All 10th series of Nvida dont show right core in CSA, but dont worry for what show the card work and you know 1070 have 1920 Cuda cores.

Other questions is talk many time here in forum, try use search.

The issue of the rainbow tool incorrectly reporting the "cuda cores" began with the maxwell series GPUs and continues today. Obviously it's wrong because you can't have a negative number of cores and it seems to have no effect on the actual use of the software. Therefore it can simply be ignored.

There was an issue with the maxwell cards and the rainbow tool that sometimes they wouldn't find a CW when they should have. I don't know if it was a driver issue or an issue with older versions of the tool, but that issue was fixed and I haven't seen that happen anymore. So, I think it was a software bug in either the older drivers or early versions of the tool and is now gone.

It is possible to run multiple cards. To do this and make it work, you need to have the multiple copies of the rainbow tool and put them in different folders. You also need to make sure the cards are using their own separate folder in the selection and also they are using different cards. After you build the chains youd then need to move them all to one folder where youd keep your rainbow table and merge them. This requires a little work and a little thought, but it's possible and it's probably a better cost/performance ratio than buying the fastest cards. The fastest cards always carry a price premium. Often times 2 cards a step or two below the fastest cards can yield more then a single faster cards and for a lower cost. Think Parallel. That's what GPU compute is all about anyway.

Building chains yourself is not the right approach since the time for you to build chains against the time to download a table ratio is 100 to 1.You need 200 days of building tables, given you do one per day,and this is only ONE table, you have more tables to create, minimal 4 of them.
I assume even the slowest download will do it faster.
Building chains yourself comes with some problems too that you will avoid if you download the tables.

Ultimately, there is a reason the tables were posted for download, since the author is not supporting the project anymore, any problems you might find won't be addressed.

Downloading tables gets you up and running in a week, creating chains on your own will take you at least 7 months.
You decide

Ok. Got it. For some reason, I thought the 1070 would be able to build in much less time. For that reason, I am downloading.

keep in mind, you can still build your own chains after you downloaded the tables.
Tbles are not eally close to be complete,so you can still add more of your chains.
Also keep in mind any merging you should do over a copy of the original table, since any problem like corrupted tables can't be recovered.

Hey guys, one quick question about merging process.
At 08hx tables i select part 1 ,part 2 and destination folder.
When this is done,i select part 3 and part 4 at the same destination folder ?
And what about part 5 ? I select only part 5 and destination folder? Src dir 2 stays blank ?

Merge 1 & 2, then 3 & 4, then result of 1 & 2 & 3 & 4.
Then that result with 5.

It's a long process and needs lots of disk space.

colibri web only has 1.5TB of B8H*00h,ffh,30000h, can download more than Colibri?]

Thanks

I move this question here as it is a General CSA RBT Question.

I am in fact a newbee on crypt8. So there is a lot to learn from my side.
Well I know about : B8hxFFh & B8hx00h

But colibry had afew extras B8hx3000h & 08hxFFh & 08hx00h 08hx3000h. Of those I do NOT understand how they are created and even less how there are been use. Do not misunderstand I know how to use CSA RBT. But understanding how those tables are created are another storry. But a thing that can be useful.

There are SPECIAL RBT TAbles like "special A0h RBT..."

Can you explain that to me? Thanks ahead.

So lets be more Specific.

*B8hxFFh & B8hx00h Are the Original crypt8 tables.
*B8hx = 184 Payload.

A Full TS line is 188 bytes, or 4 byte of Header + 184 Payload.

So the Plain Line is just
B8hx00h
Code:
47 3F 41 12 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

I welcome all, I am very surprised with your messages, write much and to sense from it isn't present...
In the first message the question was asked by the user of @captinkirk and he should have known how to add quicker these tables in manual, but as it is the long process, it began to download from the website Colibri...

Here and I have a question to members of our forum, somebody can deliver already merged tables which it is already possible to call successful on distribution, for example to deliver the TORRENT in distribution!

The following question was asked by the user of @geor how to integrate the existing tables, watch the last messages of high members, there is no normal response at a forum again...

Some members try to write that it
1) the very long process
2) a lot of space in a hard drive is necessary
3) it costs a lot of money for an electricity

and here I want to talk about these 1)+2)+3) things...
First if someone worries for an electricity of other users, then besides you could put on distribution in TORRENTS - it is very simple!
Secondly it is impossible to write that it is necessary a lot of space in a hard drive, write how many place should be taken in a hard drive, here for example if someone wrote about it some people wouldn't buy hard drives of the small sizes...
And in the third, I want to note that at everyone the VGA the card, and it will borrow peculiar time...

We will go further... HERE I WANT to ASK the QUESTION ALREADY to EXPERTS on THIS FORUM, I only ask don't pose as a lot of knowing, and I ask to answer only knowing... that who much here writes, it doesn't mean that a lot of things know - remember it...
My question concerns to high members of this forum...

@Colibri.DVB, @sahafe, @gotya, @klim, @barney2222,
@william-1, @shishmish, @marokino08, @dog-man, @gyorgy, @m_fadel,
@mauricelugher, @djdiageo, @X1, @ViaHussun
... please someone from you write here step by step, it is possible also screenshots, to understand to beginners AS MOST to CREATE AND MERGE THESE TABLES, THANKS And IF FROM YOU there is SOMEONE COULD DELIVER ALREADY READY - the MERGED TABLES ON the TORRENT DISTRIBUTION IT WOULD be MAGNIFICENT...
THANKS THIS FORUM, FOR THE FACT THAT WE HAVE SUCH GOOD USERS!!!
cheers!

Moderators Please delete my post It seems my post #16 & this one. I guess I selected wrong place to post it as it seems I am hijacking this thread.

The best tool, better than anything, is the f*cking search option.
But ignorant members always neglect the searching, and go for posting the questions, expecting that eveyone jumps with answering on how to "invent the wheel".
Everything is already answered on this and many other forums. It just requires a minute of searching and a lot more for reading :)
