Sure you can. You can use drtic for subtitles.

I haven't used it in a while and I haven't noticed there is more recent version of drtic, from 04. 11. 2006

Drtic 2.2 for Dreambox 70x0/5x/dBox2/Relook|E has been released. New feature - outline subtitles, some bugfixes.
